Legal Aid Clinics. Reaching out to aid our police better, the LS regularly conducts Legal Aid Clinics in identified regions where there are high statistics of PNP uniformed personnel facing service connected administrative and criminal cases. During these legal aid clinics, our PNP legal officers give lectures on new laws and latest jurisprudence, to further educate our policemen in the regions. One on one consultations are also entertained during these events. On October 26, 2009, a legal aid clinic was conducted for the benefit of policemen assigned with the NCRPO and its district police offices. Legal Aid Clinics were conducted in the Bicol area, in General Santos City, Palawan, and in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Because of the effectiveness of this project, the PNP Legal Service has recommended that Legal Aid Clinics be incorporated in the different ITP sorties of the Program Management Office (PMO) being conducted in the regions, such as the torch run, summits, and other consultation meetings.
